Good for my startup

Got a Business Checking account a few weeks back. It was pretty straightforward to get going, no real hassles. I linked it up to QuickBooks, which was a nice touch, made accounting a bit less of a headache. Haven't used all the features yet, but so far so good. Seems like a solid choice for what we need.

Decent value with bonus

I signed up for a Business Checking account mainly because of the $250 cash bonus offer. It seemed like a good deal compared to other options. The process was a bit more involved than I expected with all the company info, but it was worth it for the bonus. I'm keeping an eye on the monthly fees, but so far, it feels like a practical choice for my budget-conscious startup. The free ACH transfers are a big plus.

Smooth account opening, useful integrations

I recently signed up for a Business Checking account with Mercury. The application process was entirely online and surprisingly quick; it only took a few days to get approved after submitting all my company documents. I also got a $250 bonus for meeting the deposit threshold, which was a welcome perk. I've already integrated it with our accounting software, which was painless and worked as advertised. I also ordered some Physical Debit Cards for my team, which arrived within a week. The customer support I needed to clarify a transaction was responsive and helpful, resolving my query within an hour via chat. The interface is clean and easy to use, making it simple to manage funds and track expenses. Overall, a very positive experience. I appreciate the focus on features relevant to startups.

Anyone using Mercury vs Brex or Ramp? Trying to figure out which one is better for a small, early-stage tech company. Mainly looking for good credit card options and easy integrations.

C Cleo Walsh 4 weeks ago
We went with Mercury over Brex mainly because their credit card limits felt more accessible for a newer company. Integrations with accounting software are pretty solid too.

I've heard good things about Mercury's card for startups that aren't super far along yet. Brex and Ramp can be great but sometimes have higher requirements. Mercury also has a bunch of other perks for startups that are pretty useful.

Can international founders get an account? We're based in Europe but have a US entity and need a US bank account for our operations.

J Josh S. 1 month ago
Yeah, I'm pretty sure they do. I know some founders from Canada who got set up with them no problem for their US-based company.

I think they specifically cater to international founders with US entities. You'll need all your US company docs, of course, but it's one of the things they're known for supporting.

Do they charge monthly fees for their business checking accounts? Or is it like a free tier kinda thing?

S Steve 1 month ago
No monthly fees, which is awesome. That was a big selling point for us.

Nope, no monthly fees. That's one of their main draws for startups. Just gotta meet their eligibility requirements for opening an account.

Thinking of switching to Mercury for our startup. Is the signup bonus legit? Saw some stuff about $250-$500, but wasn't sure if there are catches or if it's just for certain types of businesses.

F Faith L. 1 month ago
Yeah, it's legit. We got $250 for signing up through an invite link and depositing a certain amount. Pretty straightforward, no weird hoops to jump through.

It's usually tied to using a referral link and then hitting a deposit/spend goal. Afaik it's for most startups, not just specific niches. The amount can vary though, depending on the current offer or the referral source. Definitely worth doing if you're planning to open an account anyway.

How long does it typically take to get an account set up with Mercury? Need something fairly quick for a new project and don't want to get stuck in a months-long approval process.

E Elena Osei 1 month ago
Mine was surprisingly fast, like a few days. They ask for a bunch of documents upfront but if you have them ready it speeds things up a lot.

I think it took us about a week, maybe a bit more. It depends on how fast you get them all the info they need. Compared to traditional banks it's way faster though.
